Oh my goodness, what can I say about this gorgeous girl? I had such a blast with this classy lady for her Summer senior portraits in Bath! Kayla incorporated so many personal details in her shoot - from her mother's boots and string of pearls, to her favorite vinyls and novels. It was absolutely perfect. She has such a beautiful personality and such a sweet heart. I am so excited for Kayla as she starts this new chapter of her life! Congratulations, girl!

It was such an honor to work with the Swain family again after taking maternity photos earlier this year. Matthew and Rebekah's handsome baby boy, Liam, was born early August. After just three short days Liam underwent open heart surgery at Duke University Hospital. Through the tests, complications, surgery, and recovery Matthew, Rebekah, and their family asked for prayers and believed that God would cover Liam with His protection and that their sweet boy would be healed. Around two weeks after Liam's surgery the new little family happily announced that they were released to go home.
Liam is such a handsome, sweet little fighter. I cannot begin to explain how blessed I felt to share his story and to have the opportunity to spend more time getting to know the Swain family.

Matt and Tatum are married!
I feel so honored to have had the opportunity to photograph these two and sweet Livia over the past few years. Now, getting the chance to capture their big day, was perfection.
The setting, next to the Pamlico river, was beautiful. Tatum grew up playing under the oak tree where she, on her wedding day, pledged her life to the man she loves. Her grandmother told me how special it was for Tatum to get married in the same place so many precious family memories took place.
It had rained all week, and again that afternoon, but as the time approached for the ceremony the sun peeked through the trees and poured down it's brilliant golden light on the guests who were arriving. Luckily for us, that same golden light hung around for the rest of the evening!
The personal details that Tatum and Matt incorporated in their wedding span from bbq sundaes, to a homemade photobooth with chalkboard signs, to the pallet bar that Matt handmade (what a handyman). I absolutely loved how "them" that it was. The whole day was just unbelievably gorgeous!
At the end of the night guests danced with the couple, toasted to their future, and then sent Tatum, Matt, and Livia off with cheering and sparklers. It was the perfect way to end a beautiful day!

I always love shooting newborn sessions. I adore the headbands, itsy bitsy outfits, yawns, smiles, and the thrill of capturing that moment in time that always seems to fly by the quickest. Sessions like those, like Scarlett's, are why I love my job so much.
Scarlett Marie, (I can't get over that beautiful name), is such a precious little soul. I absolutely loved every minute taking pictures of this darling baby girl during our shoot a few weeks back in Bath, NC. Her mother, Jenna, brought headbands, props, and blankets galore, which of course I loved - a girl can never have too many accessories! Jenna and Scarlett were accompanied by Michael, Scarlett's father, her aunt Amanda, and big cousin Liam - who were all able to sneak a few shots with the adorable newborn. The session ended with beautiful golden sunlight and some sweet kisses from Liam - it doesn't get better than that, folks.

Jordan and Claudia are married! Oh my gracious!
When my old friend Jordan approached me and asked if I would capture his big day I was absolutely thrilled. Jordan and Claudia both are such sweet and kind people, and are absolutely perfect for each other. I cannot begin to explain what a joy it has been to work with them and their families!
Their vintage inspired spring wedding was just dripping with flowers, paper goodies by Claudia's mother at Scrappy Seahorse Designs, lace, and other romantic and classy personal touches. One of my favorite details was the gorgeous vow books made by Scrappy Seahorse Designs - so unique!
